I saw the Book of Mormon last night at the Eugene O’Neil Theatre.  It was my second time seeing the show.  The first time I thoroughly enjoyed it—it was one of the most entertaining experiences I may have ever witnessed.  The second time, I was more aware of the themes the show is exploring, and I couldn’t help but wonder how the show will be viewed a few years from now.  Will singing a song about people dying from AIDS, being raped, etc., stand the test of time?  Once the shock value wears off, will the show have a lasting impact?
